GenieMD, a Silicon Valley based, global provider of mobile healthcare solutions, is pleased to announce the release of GenieMD 5.8 available on Apple’s App Store for iPhone and iPad. This update includes the integration of FitBit and Withings smart devices, and is the first in a series of updates by the company that will enable users to auto-populate their GenieMD profile, reducing the need for manual data entry. The company aims to provide users with a holistic view of health that incorporates biometric data from smart devices with medical and wellness data from other sources.
Users now have the ability to see how changes to medication impact INR and daily blood pressure, or how weight loss and regular exercise impact blood sugar and A1C. They can also print a Health Summary and share the trends with their doctor.
Notifications can be set to alert the user that a measure, such as blood pressure is out of range, further enabling the family caregiver to remotely support and monitor the health of a loved one.
By presenting aggregated health and wellness data to patients and their support network is one step in enabling the behavior change necessary for people to better manage or prevent disease at home.
