This Wednesday, October 23, Glasco will speak at the Georgia Tech IMPACT Series, sharing his thoughts on "Using Capitalism for a Higher Purpose." All are welcome to attend this event at 4:30 pm in LeCraw Auditorium. A live webcast will also be available. This event is hosted by the Scheller School of Business- Entrepreneurship and Leadership Institute.
In this Ted Talk Style presentation, Darrell will present "Using Capitalism for a Higher Purpose". He will make the case for social enterprise and how it can translate capitalism into a tool used to alleviate poverty. The Impact Series has invited major business leaders from across the state to grapple with some of the sectors most compelling issues.
At Social Mission Architects, Darrell Glasco, Managing Partner, assists social enterprises in determining what, if any, funding strategy best fits their needs. He also assists organizations with equity fund raising preparation. His work focuses on social enterprises that are provide social and environmental benefit. Darrell has a background spanning various roles in industries such as architecture, banking, economic development, finance, urban planning and venture capital. Based on his work with private equity and venture capital funds at Silicon Valley Bank, he developed a thorough understanding of the factors involved in making entrepreneurial and social enterprises fundable.
