• The FREMM multi-mission frigates programme combines the latest technologies developed by the DCNS group. These technological and engineering advances make the FREMM frigates world leaders in their class. France’s total order is 11 vessels and the delivery is scheduled from 2012 to 2022. In addition, one FREMM frigate is currently under construction for Morocco. The FREMM Aquitaine, first-of-class, visited Halifax in April, providing an opportunity for DCNS to show her outstanding features. The FREMM ER, the Area Air Defence variant, will integrate the latest generation of Multi Function Radar with 4 fixed AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) panels. Combined with the SETIS combat management system powerful algorithms, such radar will provide outstanding performances even in the most challenging environments including BMD capability.
• The OPV Gowind® Adroit is designed to meet the operational needs of a large number of Coast Guards and Navies focusing on maritime surveillance and homeland security. During previous stopovers, many navies around the world have been favourably impressed by L’Adroit and recognised the operational benefits of the Gowind® range.
• The Mistral projection and command ship (LHD/LCC) is a multipurpose surface vessel designed to cover a broad spectrum of missions, including amphibious operations, crisis management, airborne operations, operational command, operational transport, healthcare support, humanitarian operations and freight transport. The operational capability and interoperability of the Mistral LHD were demonstrated in recent operations (Lebanon, Libya, Mali…) as well as with the US Navy (involving LCAC and Super Stallion helicopter).
