The founding partners of the Electric Circuit Les Rôtisseries St-Hubert, RONA, METRO, the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) and Hydro-Québec are pleased to announce the signing of a partnership agreement with the city of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu for the installation of a first public charging station for electric vehicles (EVs). In addition, the St-Hubert restaurant located on Boulevard du Séminaire Nord will also offer a public charging station.

"We were looking forward to joining the Electric Circuit public charging network, and it’s now done," said the mayor of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Gilles Dolbec. "In collaboration with Hydro-Québec, the city will quickly support the roll-out of two 240-volt charging stations on its territory in 2013-2014. In addition to promoting the use of electric vehicles and improving air quality, the installation of these charging stations in Vieux-Saint-Jean will help EV drivers take advantage of all that our city has to offer."

"The Electric Circuit is proud to count the city of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu as a new partner of our large public charging network," said Pierre-Luc Desgagné, Vice President Public and Government Affairs at Hydro-Québec, on behalf of the founding partners of the Electric Circuit. "Strategically located halfway between the greater Montréal area and the U.S. border, these charging stations will be an integral part of the Québec-Vermont Electric Charging Corridor. St-Hubert restaurants, a founding partner of the Electric Circuit, are also pursuing their involvement in the Electric Circuit. We are very fortunate to be able to count on such a well-renowned partner as we expand our network” he added.

About The Electric Circuit
The Electric Circuit (theelectriccircuit.com) is a major initiative in the rollout of charging infrastructure needed to support the arrival of plug-in vehicles in Québec.

The Electric Circuit now offers close to 160 charging stations (240 V) in parking lots of the AMT, as well as those of many RONA hardware stores, Metro grocery stores and St-Hubert restaurants throughout Québec. Since its launch in March 2012, 34 other private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit. It will continue to expand in order to provide greater geographical coverage and serve more EV drivers in several regions of Québec.

While EV owners do most of their charging at home and at work, drivers can travel worry-free, knowing they can top up their batteries on the road if they need to. Electric Circuit users also have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging station locator service. The Electric Circuit Website is updated as new stations are installed or commissioned.
