Dallas, TX, United States, 2005/08/18 - As Ron Ram continues to develop Pizza Patrón franchises in the Houston market, the need for more and more qualified leaders is necessary.

“I am fortunate to have had no problem finding dedicated employees to work in my locations,” said Ram. “Pizza Patrón prides itself on ‘service to the community, commitment to value’ and we enjoy helping our employees rise within the organization. I’m privileged to have several success stories.”
His first success story is Johnny Hernandez, who joined Pizza Patrón in April 2004. Hernandez had been out of work for seven months following being struck by a stray bullet. Immediately upon joining the team at Pizza Patrón, Hernandez distinguished himself as a leader and began to assume management responsibilities.
As Ram continues to develop Rio Concho Partners, three of his restaurants are currently open and one is under development, he is grooming Hernandez to become a regional manager. As regional manager, he will be in charge of monitoring day-to-day operations of seven of the stores and his duties will include maintaining product quality standards, controlling labor and food costs and hiring employees.
Another of Ram’s success stories is Guadalupe Rodriquez. She moved from Mexico to Houston less than a year ago and has since learned to speak English, moved up to a management position and has even appeared in a few TV programs, such as Secretos.
“Whenever possible we take employees such as Johnny and Guadalupe and encourage them to take foodservice classes and either brush up on or learn English,” said Ram. “We help them enroll in free English courses at the community college and work with their schedules so they can attend. In fact, we are working with three more employees right now and are hoping to move them into management positions by the beginning of 2006.”
About Pizza Patrón
Pizza Patrón was founded by Antonio Swad in 1986. Since franchising began in March 2003, the brand has gone from four locations to 139, either open or under development. Pizza Patrón features festive and fun carryout-only pizza stores that are community based in Spanish speaking or predominately Hispanic neighborhoods and recently added its first dine-in location in May 2005.
All pizza dough is made fresh throughout the evening; no preservatives are added or needed. The sauce is prepared fresh in the stores, as well, from crushed Roma tomatoes.
