Warwick San Francisco Hotel’s beautiful and historical building (warwicksf.com) was designed and built by the prominent American Architect Arthur Brown, Jr. and was originally built as the Maryland Hotel in 1913. This was a major historical time in America during the Pan-Pacific International Exposition with the World’s Fair held in San Francisco in 1915. Its ostensible purpose was to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal, but it was widely seen in the city as an opportunity to showcase its recovery from the 1906 Earthquake.
