The European Commission and ePractice.eu jointly organise the upcoming eGovernment event “Build, Connect, Grow: Make Business in the Digital Single Market” on Thursday 21 February 2013 in Brussels to take place at European Commission premises.
This event, an initiative of DG CONNECT, aims at addressing the challenges accruing from the transformation of the global economic, social and political system in relation to the promotion of the Digital Single Market and at putting to context the ways Large Scale Pilots (LSPs) can address these challenges. The topics that are going to be discussed are:
• Why and where is the ICT industry needed?
• How can the industry be engaged to guarantee the quality and take-up of the results of the LSPs?
• What business opportunities exist for ICT industries under the new European Commission’s initiatives?
• How is it possible to guarantee equal treatment and engagement of SME in the new business environment?
• How should public administrations participate in order to be more effective and efficient?
• What can we learn from LSPs past experience/results, especially concerning the promotion of the Digital Single Market?
• How can the ICT industry, through the facilitation of LSPs contribute to economic growth within the EU?
• What kind of barriers should be removed to further promote the Digital Single Market?
This free event is open to industries, businesses, stakeholders, practitioners, researchers, experts and public administration officials that are involved in LSP projects and 'smart growth' initiatives. It is also open to businesses and/or citizens who interact with them: project implementers; European Commission officers; ePractice members etc.
