ArcSoft, Inc., an industry-leading software developer of multimedia imaging technologies and applications, announced today its Screen+ powers AMD (NYSE: AMD) Screen Mirror¹, a screen-sharing application optimized for AMD's upcoming ("Richland") and ("Temash") Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) platforms. With a PC running the latest AMD APU architecture with AMD Screen Mirror technology powered by ArcSoft, consumers can easily share their PC desktop, presentations, or media to HDTVs and other displays that support the DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) standard.
AMD Screen Mirror puts ArcSoft's industry-leading multimedia expertise to use in a novel way, using real-time audio and video encoding in conjunction with the DLNA networking standard to show whatever the user has on their PC screen on DLNA-compatible displays. No more worrying about which file formats are streamable and which aren't. If it can be seen on the PC screen, it can be sent wirelessly to other compatible DLNA displays.
AMD Screen Mirror applies the power of AMD's new "Richland" and "Temash" APUs to improve the user experience and reduce power consumption by taking advantage of AMD Accelerated Video Converter.
"ArcSoft's long- running collaboration with AMD continues to provide real-world software solutions for AMD's cutting edge hardware," said Senior. VP, Dr. Sean Bi. "AMD Screen Mirror is the latest example, providing the user a simple, wireless way to share virtually everything on their AMD-based PC with their friends and family on their large screen DLNA-based HDTVs."
"With our upcoming "Richland" and "Temash" APUs, we want to provide users a collection of elite software that empowers them to experience their PC, notebook or tablet to the fullest," said Neal Robison, Sr. Director of Consumer Content Application Support at AMD. "AMD Screen Mirror allows users to conveniently view content across devices with amazing performance coupled with low power consumption."

¹AMD Screen Mirror is designed to enable the transmission and display of your PC screen on other compatible networked "mirror" devices. Only available on upcoming AMD A10, A8 and A6 APUs codenamed "Richland" and upcoming AMD A6 and A4 APUs codenamed "Temash." Compatible Digital Media Renderer (DMR) devices are listed on the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) website (dlna.org/consumer-home/look-for-dlna/product-search) with the "'Play To' Receiver" feature and must also include H.264 and AAC support. Both PC and DMR device must be connected to a network that will permit content streaming. AMD Screen Mirror supports almost all popular image, audio and video file formats as well as applications showing on your PC screen, but will not mirror protected content. Requires minimum screen resolution of 800x600. Performance may be degraded on networks with limited bandwidth, especially with high definition content.
