British TV brand, LINSAR, is building a consumer service based around increasing support for rich media. A key part of that strategy and development is the inclusion of its game service, provided by Antix Labs. The high quality, casual to premium games will be supported from low cost connected TVs upwards. Some TVs will be purchased with games preloaded and all will be able to access the LINSAR and Antix Game Store.
Antix offers second screen support so that Antix-enabled phones and tablets can be used for easier payment and greater levels of interaction. For example, consumers can interact using their phones and tablets with their televisions, challenge and play a game on the LINSAR TV whether in the same room and not requiring use of the broadband network or over the network if their opponent is in a remote location.
Terry Reed, Owner and Director of LINSAR said,“Antix meets consumers’ expectations for the next generation of game services and fulfils our need to be offering the very best media to our customers.”
Francis Charig, Chief Executive of Antix stated,“LINSAR has established a reputation both under its own brand and working with some of the major retail channels in the UK, for high quality televisions and associated service, so Antix will benefit from our close collaboration. Antix is delighted to see how LINSAR’s TVs so manifestly utilize the power of the Antix platform.”
Barry Kick, also owner and Director of LINSAR commented,“The TV is the hub of the connected home and we’re addressing this with sophisticated but easy to use services across the main areas of customer need, Antix being selected by us as the best in class gaming service.”
About Antix Labs Ltd (Antix)
Antix (Antix.com) has developed the Antix Game Player incorporating a consumer-focused distribution file format and service that makes games even more viral than music and video whilst still protecting the rights and the revenues of the developers. It enables consumers to copy, share, challenge and play with others not only via a service provider’s network but also off-network by means of wireless technologies such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct. Antix connects consumers across feature phones and smartphones, tablets, TVs, set top boxes, PCs and other devices even when a provider’s network is inaccessible, intermittent, slow or full as is the reality in home and on mobile across most of the world. The company offers the Game Player, corresponding tools, certification mechanism, optional white-label store and an optional game warehouse necessary to deploy a complete service offering. The Antix Game Service is being used as a core gaming component by major operators, broadcasters, device manufacturers and retailers across the globe. Headquartered in the Reading Enterprise Centre in Reading, England and with offices in America and Asia, Antix was founded by Francis Charig, its current Chief Executive and a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer.
