Cooper-Weymouth, Peterson (CWP), has produced a new 18” x .030” x 15,000lb. Zig-Zag Press Feeding System, featuring a stock reel, straightener, threading tables and zig-zag servo feed for a major appliance manufacturer. The press feed system solution with zig-zag operation allows parts to be nested together for a 22% scrap savings over conventional, single hit stamping.
The system includes a 5R-18 stock reel with 72” O.D. capacity, 17.5” – 22.5” I.D. capacity, hydraulic expansion, hydraulic inching drive and an ultrasonic variable tension brake; a 18B stock straightener with matte chrome pinch rolls and smooth chrome straightening rolls to process critical finish material; a threading table with micarta top; and a ZSMXSE18 zig-zag servo feed with auto lube system, entry and exit quick release cam lock, adjustable edge guides for material squaring and adjustable height cabinet base for quick pass line height adjustments.
