Hugh Murray and his accomplished sales team of the Fort Lauderdale-based Catamaran Group is that World Dealer.
During the 2006 Paris International boat show, Lagoon honored the Catamaran Group as its best World Dealer of the year for their third consecutive year. The Catamaran Group boasts The Catamaran Company, Annapolis Catamaran Center, Tortola Catamaran Center, Esserman Yacht Sales, and 2Hulls Inc.
The World dealer evaluation scheme is part of Lagoon’s internationally benchmarked but locally developed operating strategy geared towards guaranteeing superior sales and customer care services across the dealer network.
This achievement confirmed the Catamaran Group’s international status as the #1 source of quality sailing and power catamarans Worldwide. The Catamaran Group dominates the catamaran marketplace with sales exceeding $30,000,000 thus far in 2006, and now average over 100 units per calendar year.
2006 was a whirlwind year for the company as it tied up its fifth consecutive Lagoon dealer of the Year award and won the sole U.S. distributor rights for the luxurious Sunreef Yachts mega catamaran range. “Our success is something far from being overnight,” explains Mr. Murray. “It’s so much more progressive than that. If 2006 was special, so was 2005, 2004 and so on. We’re always coming up with new promotions and new ideas.”
Some of this year’s ideas included the redesign of Catamarans.com, which offers a comprehensive avenue for catamaran sales, charter and services to initiate a one-day on-line catamaran experience with intense focus on catamaran news. The new design offers a God’s eye view of what other value-added services the company offers with regards to insurance, documentation, delivery, dockage, financing and charter yacht placement options.
With 2006 winding down, The Catamaran Group is now focusing their attention on the 2007 Miami International Boat Show to showcase their compelling arsenal of catamaran services available to catamaran buyers, owners, sellers and charterers alike. According to Mr. Murray, The Catamaran Group's staff is confident that it is more than ready for this event, "If you add up the total years of service that we have in this sector, you'll find that there is a lot of experience here...We know we can sell boats. We've got the staff to accomplish this and we have the buying power to be competitive. If you're going to get in the game, you need to play, and we feel more than comfortable playing."
