In today’s climate, it pays to be ahead of the game. And at English Eccentric we pride on ourselves on being just that.
Launched in June on-line and at Trade Fair Pulse, we specialize in being a company where great design and ethical considerations are equally important.
English eccentric products are idiosyncratic, interesting, beautifully made, hand-crafted and all are a take on being quintessentially British. With tongues firmly in cheeks, we look at the familiar and give it a little twist. Tweak firm favorites so that they become something else.
English Eccentrics’ Creative Director Sarah Baulch, who is an expert on up-cycling design has been researching, studying and exploring just these issues through her Up-cycling Company ReVampt

With our Mad Hatter range we couldn’t help but poke gentle fun at the English mania for afternoon tea and fairy cakes. Our knitted fairy cake tea cosy, crochet cakes and knitted bunting are a wry take on tea for two. Made ethically in Peru and West Sussex.
The Deconstruct Union Jack range encourages us to be patriotic without waving a flag. Not only has the Union Jack flag been transformed to have a cool understated pattern of patriotism, but is also hand crafted in Britain.
Looking at the Britishness range from ReVampt, the familiar became unfamiliar as we played with the nations favorite clothing- jeans and turned them into something else- how about shelving or cushions.
Mixing denim with shirts, other fabrics and much loved motifs, we felt it became a very British affair. All made in West London.
At last but not least, our lovely Rocking Robin range of crochet Christmas baubles is just wonderful. The Christmas Puddings are fab, the multi-colored spotted ones lovely and the ones with buttons very cool too.
We believe our products do speak for themselves, their ethical positives are an added extra, a bonus for our customers, not the raison d’etre.

About the Creative Director
Sarah Baulch is the owner of English Eccentric (englisheccentric.net), and is a recognized expert on up-cycling product design. She has passed on her specialist knowledge to thousands of people. Facilitating recycling workshops at Museums such as the Victoria & Albert in London, appearing on television in the Alan Titchmarsh show talking about Up-cycling and blogging monthly at ReVampt to spread the word.
Sarah has also appeared in the national press a number of times and was named Queen of Green by Good Homes, had her website named as one of it’s top on-line store by Elle Decoration and was a London finalist for the HSBC Star start ups.
