The proposal would expand the ongoing globalization of Wiley’s Content Management operations, which already has a substantial presence in Singapore. The reallocation is intended to deliver substantial financial benefits while preserving operational success.
“Content Management has a substantial presence in Singapore, and has been working with typesetters in the Asia Pacific region for many years,” said Steve Miron, Senior Vice President, Wiley-Blackwell. “This proposal would deliver substantial financial benefits enabling Wiley to invest further in serving the evolving needs of our customers.”
Mr. Miron explained that the decision was not made without carefully balancing the opportunities and consequences and weighing difficult choices. “In the coming weeks, we will be consulting with colleagues who may be affected and to ensure that they are supported and treated fairly and with great care, in a manner that is consistent with our values in these difficult circumstances.”
