AccuRev, Inc., the leading provider of tools for managing the software development process, today announced multiple improvements to performance and usability in the latest release of its software configuration management tool, AccuRev Enterprise Edition. AccuRev Version 5.5 includes new functionality and features, improvements to the user interface and performance, and new administrative tools to help speed future upgrades in the enterprise.
New for AccuRev 5.5, Stream Favorites help navigate large or complex stream hierarchies through process navigation and minimize the time required to find files by letting you create filters to display only streams that are of interest. Stream Favorites can be shared with other users and groups in an AccuRev depot.
In addition to Stream Favorites, users of AccuRev Version 5.5 will benefit from:
• Improved performance between master and replica with the creation of a new setting allowing users options to tune performance on lower bandwidth networks.
• Enhancements to the StreamBrowser™, including display of workflow rules and repository and branch information for streams back by Git repositories, the ability to navigate the stream hierarchy by grabbing and dragging the StreamBrowser background, and new features to distinguish workspaces from other streams.Numerous improvements to the File Browser, including enhanced search and filter functionality, simplified presentation, and more logical placement of buttons for important operations like Update.
• Support for creating and managing properties for streams, users, and groups. Property values can include simple strings or physical files. For example, you might want to specify the value of a profile property for a user as an image (joe_headshot.jpg, for example).
• The foundation for new upgrade functionality, to be released with 5.6, that will be a real boon to administrators and users in the enterprise. Starting with AccuRev 5.6, AccuRev users will be able to download and install the AccuRev client installation package that the AccuRev administrator has placed on the AccuRev Server.
