Quinetha Frasier, MBA of Firstborn Group, LLC will present social enterprise as an viable option for creating revenue to support nonprofit missions on May 22, 2012 with the Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN). The workshop is from 10:30 am - 11:45 am at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Atlanta, GA. The “Social Enterprise: Nonprofits in the Business of Funding Change’ class will provide attendees with practical strategies and case studies on how to create additional revenue streams. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how to advance their social mission through market based strategies and business disciplines of earning income.
Professor Muhammad Yunus, 2006 Nobel Peace Prize Recipient, commented that,“Access to capital is a ‘foundational right’, because having it allows other rights to build upon it. Many of our country’s charitable organizations’ access to capital have been reduced in light of the U.S. financial crisis. The once plentiful sources of private and Federal grants have become more scarce and competitive. Solely relying on grants and private gifts keep nonprofits in a competition for limited capital resources that cannot ensure financial sustainability.
