Seattle, WA, United States, 2012/05/01 - On Friday, May 11, Women of Color Empowered luncheon, called “Today’s Leaders: Paving the Way for the Future,” will honor 8 women - WomenofColorEmpowered.com.

These 8 local panelists, who are leaders in their respective fields, will share their stories with the attendees. During the luncheon from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm, the attendees have an opportunity to ask the panelists questions, network with hundreds of women, and enjoy a good meal.

The eight honorees and panelists are:
Dr. Ana Mari Cauce, Provost at the University of Washington; Martha Choe, Chief Administrative Officer at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; Gael Tarleton, President of the Port of Seattle Commission; Anu Jain, Community Relations Vice President at Intelius, Gloria Northcroft, Life Sciences Consultant; Marie Zackuse, Secretary for the Board of Directors for Tulalip Tribes of Washington, Trish Carpenter, President of Bellevue LifeSpring; and Linda Pillo, Bellevue Police Department Chief.
Betty Nokes, President and CEO of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce will emcee.
This will be the first time Women of Color Empowered will host its lunch in downtown Bellevue. For the past 16 years, the luncheon has been held in Seattle.
Women of Color Empowered (womenofcolorempowered.com) is a non-profit organization founded in 1996 by the Northwest Asian Weekly Foundation. The organization consists of professional women who want to enhance the quality of life for women of all races and backgrounds. Women of Color Empowered supports these women through events that provide opportunities to build cross-cultural and multi-generational relationships, promotes community service, and fosters self-improvement and mentoring.
