Precision Microdrives releases their latest Linear Resonant Actuator. The C13-00 produces vibration in a horizontal axis in parallel with its power leads. This is unlike the company's previous range of LRAs, such as C10-000, which only vibrate in the vertical axis. This is also different to their eccentric rotating mass pager motors, which vibrate in two axes as the motor rotates.

This linear resonant actuator can support advanced tactile feedback performance improvements for specific applications. The LRA has a quick rise time (typically 7ms) and produce accurate haptic effects in a single axis whilst keeping a low profile design. This is ideal for handheld products with tight space requirements.

The C13-000 is driven from an AC signal up to 2V RMS and is under 3.5mm in height. With an extremely low certified start voltage of only 0.3 V RMS it typically produces 0.6 G of vibration, which is comparable with most of the Pico Vibe™ 4mm vibrating motors.
