Calloway’s Nursery recently promoted Sam Weger to Vice President of Recruiting and Training.

Weger has worked for Calloway’s for more than 25 years. As vice president of recruiting and training, Weger oversees training and professional development of all Calloway’s personnel. Under his tutelage, Calloway’s currently has more Texas Certified Nursery Professionals (TCNP) and Texas Master Certified Nursery Professionals (TMCNP) than any other organization in the state.

Weger actively recruits talented individuals from the colleges and universities with horticultural degrees in Texas and Oklahoma to ensure we continue to offer our customers the best possible experience. Weger also manages the extensive 10-week summer internship program each year at Calloway’s and Cornelius Nursery.

In addition to his responsibilities at Calloway’s Nursery, Weger is currently Chairman of the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association (TNLA). Weger has served on the TNLA Board of Directors since 2001 and has been Chairman of Region V on two separate occasions. He has also participated on numerous committees and is certified at the highest TNLA level – Texas Master Certified Nursery Professional (TMCNP).
