Having spent more than 20 years in the hospitality industry, Mr. Velhagen has held significant postings in several regions in the Philippines. He spent ten years as the General Manager of the Victoria Court Chain/Best Western Hotel La Corona and subsequently was tasked to position the Crown Regency’s Club Ultima brand in Cebu City as Chief Operating Officer. Karl managed Astoria Boracay at its pre-opening stage and later on with the Center for Hospitality Arts and Management in Manila. Prior to Ramada Manila Central, he spent three years as General Manager of One Tagaytay Place Hotel Suites before moving back to Manila.

Mr. Velhagen has also spent some time in the academe as a faculty member at the De La Salle University - College of St. Benilde School of Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management (SHRIM). He is a Business Management graduate from DLSU.

As the new General Manager for Ramada Manila Central, Karl will help catapult Binondo back in the tourist map by leading a group of service professionals steadfast to provide guests a distinct hospitality experience.
