DCIM in the Cloud provides a web based portal to control server moves and installs, issuing of work orders and enables access to management information such as server capacity, as well as power and cooling utilization, for multiple data centre locations. Data Centre managers and staff use the web portal to request new servers to be added or moved. The DCIM backend is updated to reflect changes and install teams are issued with a work-order. Rack, network and power capacity reports are similarly requested and fulfilled via the web portal. Because the database model is always up to date it can be relied upon for instant business intelligence and reports to improve efficiency and cut costs.
