CIMdata, the leading global product lifecycle management (PLM) consulting and research firm announces that CIMdata’s Simulation & Analysis Council and the NAFEMS Simulation Data Management Working Group will join together to produce a unique two-day program that will explore emerging best practices on addressing the critical issues facing members of the simulation and analysis community. The events will take place in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 1 and 2, 2012.
At the first event on May 1, CIMdata’s Simulation & Analysis Council and a select group of leading-edge users will share how they have created a competitive advantage from deploying simulation for conceptual design, product development, and manufacturing. The workshop will be facilitated by CIMdata’s practice manager for Simulation & Analysis, Dr. Keith Meintjes.
The workshop will focus on two critical areas; simulation governance and simulation-driven design. The objective of simulation governance is to provide a governing framework of internal policies, standards, processes, resources, rules, metrics, and best practices that will influence and determine a company’s capacity for simulation-based decision making. Simulation-driven design refers to the effective use of simulation during the ideation and concept phases of product development.
On May 2, the NAFEMS Simulation Data Management Working Group will host a symposium to help attendees to better understand the benefits to be gained from implementing a simulation data management system. Benefits include: increased efficiency, reduced development costs, and improved time-to-market. The primary focus of the symposium will be on companies sharing their experiences, lessons learned, and benefits gained from breakthrough improvements in simulation throughput, analyst productivity, product performance, and information traceability.
