Sartorius Stedim Biotech (SSB), a leading international provider for the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, concluded a private label agreement with Trace Analytics, a leading provider of analyzing systems for online monitoring of biotech cultivation processes. This contract grants SSB exclusive global rights to market, distribute and service BioPAT Trace, the new online analyzing system.
BioPAT Trace is a glucose-lactate analyzer used for monitoring and controlling both pilot-scale and process-scale fermentation and cell cultivation processes. The system measures the concentrations of the two analytes glucose and lactate simultaneously, in real time and online. BioPAT Trace can be integrated into either single-use or reusable stainless steel bioreactors and, thanks to its single-use sensors and microfluidic elements, is immediately ready to use. The system enables reliably sterile, automated sampling, by either filtration or dialysis, from the bioreactor.
Mario Becker, Director of Marketing, PAT & Automation at Sartorius, states: “With BioPAT Trace, we are expanding our PAT portfolio by an important component. The new glucose-lactate analyzer provides our customers with real-time information about their critical process parameters, helping them to further optimize and automate their processes.”
Trace Analytics CEO Dr. Wolfgang Künnecke: “Sartorius as a leading technology provider in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries has sales and service structures in place across the globe. Through this alliance, we have found the perfect partner to enable us to serve the worldwide needs of our customers by providing the highest quality.”
