GE Antares Capital, a unit of GE Capital, today announced it closed 23 syndicated senior credit facilities, totaling more than $2.2 billion in financings, during the third quarter of 2011. GE Capital Markets served as Lead Arranger on all of these transactions.
“The middle market is stable and active,” declared Stuart Aronson, president and CEO of GE Capital’s Sponsor Finance business, which includes GE Antares. “Throughout the third quarter we have seen new deals continue to be initiated and close successfully. U.S. companies are turning to GE Capital to help them build their business because of our financial and intellectual capital, our stability, and our reliability.”
GE Antares also closed four new transactions through the Senior Secured Loan Program, jointly managed with Ares Capital, during the same period totaling $540 million. The Senior Secured Loan Program provides one loan to replace traditional and mezzanine debt, allowing for greater speed and simplicity.
“Our customers rely on GE to have the products, resources and commitment to work with them through all economic cycles and in tough markets like we’ve experienced this summer,” Aronson said. “We were the most active middle market lender successfully syndicating and closing transactions during this time period. Looking at our forward pipeline, we expect this level of transaction activity to continue through the balance of the year.”
