Therm-Omega-Tech, the global leader in the design and manufacture of self-actuating temperature control valves, announced today that they released a new drain tempering valve with twice the flow capacity of its original DTV valve. The company spent extensive time designing and developing a valve in response to customer demand for a valve that can be used in applications where a high volume of effluent must be tempered; the result being the new 1” DTV valve.
“Therm-Omega-Tech is excited and proud to be releasing the 1” DTV valve,” said Nick Tallos, V.P. of Engineering. “Recently, a well-known coffee chain had an issue with not being able to open a new location due to discharged water exceeding 140⁰F. With our DTV valve, these issues can be solved in an economical way which assures plumbing codes are met.”
Common applications where water over 140⁰F becomes a concern include boiler blow down, commercial dish washers, laundries, discharge from humidifiers, autoclaves, commercial coffee makers, and condensate drains. The valve is completely self-operating and easy to install. Since the DTV valve is open only when the effluent exceeds the specified setpoint temperature, it also conserves water by automatically turning off cold water when not needed.
Therm-Omega-Tech has over two decades of experience in the creation of valves for freeze and scald protection, mixing and diverting, steam traps, ambient temperature control, and surface sensing applications. Custom specifications are always welcomed. Its valves protect billions of dollars of rail equipment each year, and can be found in commercial dish washer lines; boiler systems for blow downs; commercial laundries, safety showers and eyewash stations, thermal solar panels, and more. Therm-Omega-Tech’s valves are very “green” in that no outside power source is needed to produce motion. .
Founded in 1983, Therm-Omega-Tech is the global leader in the design and manufacture of the most advanced, reliable, and compact self-actuated valves for temperature control. The company holds over 25 patents for the design and manufacturing of valves for freeze control, scald protection, and tepid water mixing in the rail, aerospace, chemical, solar, healthcare, hospitality, and manufacturing industries to name a few. All Therm-Omega-Tech products are made in the United States of America. More details are available at ThermOmegaTech.com.
