Rovi Corporation today announced that Rovi TotalGuide™ will power Panasonic’s next generation electronic program guide (EPG) for its connected TV and DVD/BD recorder products in Europe.
Rovi TotalGuide is an advanced media guide that provides a single destination for finding and discovering various types of content. It includes deep, descriptive information and rich multimedia on cast, programs and movies, and enables consumers to easily navigate from one content element to another, a key aspect of Rovi’s ‘six degrees’ media discovery experience. In addition, TotalGuide features interactive advertising capability that enables brands engagement with consumers that extends beyond the traditional banner and commercial advertising.
“We share a similar vision with Panasonic of bringing easy, intuitive, and interactive features to the connected TV, and are pleased that TotalGuide will help power an enhanced consumer experience on Panasonic’s high-quality products,” said Thomas Carson, EVP, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Rovi. “By incorporating sophisticated search, recommendations, and interactive advertising technologies with an advanced user interface, TotalGuide transforms the content discovery experience, helping Panasonic to extend the value it provides to its customers.”
