The foyer of Lahmeyer’s headquarters in Bad Vilbel provided an excellent backdrop for this event. German Halcour, managing director of Lahmeyer Rhein-Main, welcomed about 150 representatives from economy and politics. Urban development in Germany is one of the core services of the company. The most prominent speaker was Rainer Bomba, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Construction. He gave explanations on the plans of the Federal Government and started a lively discussion.
Experts from research, politics and economy expressed their opinion on the topic “urbanity of tomorrow in the urban surroundings of today”. Besides Rainer Bomba, Messieurs Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Manfred Hegger and Prof. Dr. Carl-Alexander Graubner, both Darmstadt TU, Rüdiger Wiechers, town councillor of Bad Vilbel, Jürgen Sperzel, technical director of Bien-Zenker, and Volker Hoff, Vice President of Opel/Vauxhall Government Relations belonged to the panel. The event was moderated by Dr. Matthias Alexander, head of department of F.A.Z. Rhein-Main Zeitung.
A vernissage with colourful paintings of the singer and painter Andrea Matthias Pagani from Mannheim formed the cultural programme component of the event, opened by the former mayor of Bad Vilbel, Günther Biwer.
