The recently concluded “CCH Global M&A Strategy Conclave 2011” in Mumbai brought over 100 Tax, Accounting & Legal professionals to a common forum to discuss issues, approaches and strategies related to M&A. The conference showcased leading experts like Mr. V.S Parthasarthy- EVP Finance and M&A, Mahindra & Mahindra, Mr. Rajeev Wagle - Group CFO, UTV Software, Mr. Joginder Singh Yadav - General Counsel, Nokia Siemens Network, Mr. Rajinder Singh - General Counsel, JSW, Emily Madder- General Counsel, South Asia, Siemens and many more.
This event addressed the current issues affecting the varied industries in India dealing with Mergers and Acquisition, designing a successful cross border strategy, and mitigating risk for M&A deals, examine local and global markets, and ways to achieve a smooth deal completion and company integration. This conference was one of the most interactive events on M&A with the most successful reach in India. During the discussions it was evident that the recent updates by CCI have left the industry looking for answers to their queries. The ambiguity on the updates clearly suggests the need of such conferences to create awareness and provide a knowledge sharing platform that welcomes all sections of the industry.
The conference discussed Due Diligence and Compliance in detail, a case study from Siemens on their process was very well received. A panel on IP Due Diligence moderated by Mr. M.R Prasanna was the most interactive session which generated a healthy Q&A session. Integration and Valuation of M&A were the hot favorite topics which were discussed in detail by most speakers. We saw lots of case studies, practical insights and examples at the conference which were very helpful to the delegates.
Speaking on the occasion, Thomas Abraham, Managing Director, CCH India stated,“The Global M&A Strategy Conclave has been a great success and we at CCH would like to conduct this annually. We are pleased to announce more such corporate events in the near future with focused topics on International Taxation, Competition Law, IFRS Road Map, and FCPA – Corporate Fraud. We believe events complement our business of Books and Online subscriptions in the Tax, Accounting and Legal space.”
By far this was the most well received and attended conference on M&A with excellent speakers, content and participation from major corporates.
