Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, 2011/04/22 - For the third consecutive year SaskTel has been named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers by Mediacorp Canada, Inc.
The Canada’s Greenest Employers competition recognizes 50 employers who lead Canada in building a corporate culture that values environmental responsibility. SaskTel is the only Saskatchewan-based company on the list.
“Over the past few years SaskTel has demonstrated real leadership when it comes to environmental sustainability,” said Bill Boyd, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. “SaskTel’s employees and customers should be proud of this national recognition for SaskTel’s efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle throughout the corporation.”
“SaskTel employees live, work and raise families in communities across the province, so it only makes sense to be environmentally responsible in everything we do.” said Ron Styles, SaskTel President and CEO. “We’re honoured to receive this latest recognition from Mediacorp for our environmental initiatives. SaskTel will continue to find innovative ways to preserve and protect our shared environment.”
SaskTel’s environmental strategy involves a number of key elements, including waste reduction, recycling, increased fuel efficiency and an Environmental Management System that aligns with ISO 14001 standards. More information about SaskTel’s environmental initiatives is available at sasktel.com/.
