Los Angeles, CA, United States, 2011/04/22 - Carl Terzian, chairman of Carl Terzian Associates, was recently announced as the Distinguished Keynote Speaker at The Los Angeles Chapter of the ISSA’s third annual Information Security Summit on Protecting Businesses from Cyber Attacks.
The Los Angeles Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA-LA) announces Carl Terzian, chairman of Carl Terzian Associates, as Distinguished Keynote Speaker at its third annual Information Security Summit on Protecting Businesses from Cyber Attacks. The theme of this year's Summit is The Growing Cyber Threat: Protect Your Business. The Summit will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 7:30 AM on the UCLA Campus and will be hosted by UCLA Extension.
"Meeting the challenges of cybercrime requires that everyone—executive management, IT professionals and information security professionals—work together," says ISSA-LA President Stan Stahl, Ph.D. “There is far more to managing the risk of cybercrime than technology. That’s why we’ve always included special tracks designed for executives and their trusted advisors.”
“Having Carl Terzian as the Summit’s Distinguished Keynote Speaker perfectly reflects this new reality,” Stahl continues. “Carl is an inspirational speaker, renowned for his work in the community for his business networking and public relations. He has been instrumental in helping ISSA-LA build its Community Outreach Advisory Board.”
“I am honored to have been chosen as the Distinguished Keynote Speaker for this year’s Information Security Summit on Protecting Businesses from Cyber Attacks," said Mr. Terzian. "Within my presentations about how to communicate effectively, I always make sure to tell my audience of the dangers of Internet and E: privacy. It is vital for today's business professionals to be educated and well-prepared in protecting their businesses against cyber attacks. Watch what you write in E:s and to whom you connect with on the Internet. In my business it is part of crisis management.”
The Summit is the only educational forum in Los Angeles specifically designed to encourage participation and interaction among all three vital information security constituencies: (1) business executives, senior business managers, and their trusted advisors; (2) technical IT personnel with responsibility for information systems and the data they contain; and (3) information security practitioners with responsibility for ensuring the security of sensitive information.
Registration is open to anyone interested in learning more about information security but is particularly recommended for business executives and senior managers; business professionals in law, accounting, insurance and banking; technical IT personnel; and information security practitioners.
The Information Security Summit is part of ISSA-LA’s important community outreach program. The goal of the program is to help our community stay safe from cybercrime by enabling the necessary collaboration between business and community leaders, technical IT professionals and the information security community.
