Saratoga Springs, NY, United States, 2011/03/23 - Perspectives from Major Corporations with Elliott Masie, Betsy Myers and Marshall Goldsmith.
Every year, U.S. corporations and government agencies spend over $13 billion on leadership development for new and rising executives. Leadership retreats, content from college professors, social time with the CEO, coaching, 360 Feedback and stretch assignments are common elements in these programs; yet, there is little detailed benchmarking amongst organizations on how to best redesign and improve leadership programs that require significant investments.
The MASIE Center’s Learning CONSORTIUM, a collaboration of over 240 major companies, will host the first global gathering of Leadership Development program directors at LeadershipDev 2011, to be hosted in Las Vegas June 14 & 15.
LeadershipDev will be led by Elliott Masie, Chair of the Learning CONSORTIUM, and co-hosted by Betsy Myers, former Executive Director of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Special programs from Marshall Goldsmith, author of "What Got You Here Won’t Get You There"… and Doug Lynch, Wharton/UPenn Chief Learning Officer Program, will also be featured.
LeadershipDev participants will address the changing nature of Leadership Development:
• What New Leaders Need in Organizations Facing New Realities;
• Explore Changing Models for Development & Delivery;
• Challenge Assumptions about Speed, Process & Intensity of Leadership Development;
• Consider & Design Alternative Models for Leadership Training;
• Align with Changing Technology & Evolving Workforce Demographics;
• Expand Leadership Development Efficacy Research;
• Globalize Leadership Development Approaches;
• Contrast Investment Models for Leadership Development.
According to Elliott Masie, “As aspects of the economy improve, we are seeing a marked rise in Leadership Development programs on a global level. And, for the first time, organizations are turning to blended and virtual delivery for some of their senior programs. CLOs in our Learning CONSORTIUM have urged us to hold this event as a setting to take a fresh look at Leadership Development strategies and activities for new leaders in rapidly evolving organizations.”
LeadershipDev (Leadershipdev.com) will include a key set of research, benchmarking surveys and vendor-neutral programs focused on refreshing and redesigning organizational Leadership Development.
