ZOLL Medical Corporation, a manufacturer of medical devices and related software solutions, announced today that it has introduced an iPad™ app for EMS organizations to create electronic patient care reports (ePCRs).
The new ZOLL RescueNet ePCR for iPad app will provide EMS organizations with critical data capture functionality, including time-stamping, auto calculations of age and mileage, auto populated narrative for an easier SOAP (subjective objective assessment and plan), and one-tap access to all data input screens. It also allows multi-agency login support, stylus-free signature capabilities, and the flagging of incomplete sections. The app brings intuitive, electronic iPad access to the patient care reporting process.
“We are excited to be able to offer EMS professionals new technology to assist them in the life-saving situations they face every day. Our commitment is to offer applications that simplify data collection and improve access to information,” said David Brown, President, Data Management Products, ZOLL. ”We hope the operational and economical efficiencies our ePCR iPad solution provides will enable more EMS organizations to adopt electronic patient care reporting.”
The ZOLL ePCR iPad app will be available late May, 2011 to download from the iTunes® store. The pricing model will include no charge for the app download and then a per run fee for ongoing usage. Ruggedized cases to give the iPad the necessary protection needed in emergency response environments are available from a variety of sources including the OtterBox® Defender.
