Daresbury, Cheshire, United Kingdom, 2011/02/11 - UK provider of customer experience monitoring solutions for mobile operators Wadaro Limited has launched the latest version of TAP Essential to support the explosive growth in smartphones.
The explosive growth in demand for smartphones brings new challenges for mobile network operators. The customer’s experience of their device demands a robust network to ensure that services are rich and accessible. Mobile Operators are naturally keen to ensure the performance of their service is of the highest quality possible. Consequently, they invest significantly in performance measurement solutions. However, the application of traditional solutions such as drive test and probing does not provide MNO’s with a true reflection of their subscribers actual experience.
CEO Robert Wakeling stated… ‘The proliferation and variety of smart phones and other browsing & collaboration devices prohibits the economical deployment of handset based customer experience monitoring solutions when implemented as a phone application. Furthermore, the design of some smartphones intentionally does not allow device or network performance to be acquired by applications. Wadaro bypass this problem by implementing TAP Essentialtm (TAP) in the SIM card enabling MNO’s to monitor the quality of their subscribers anywhere and at all times.
TAP supports a range of industry standard KPI’s and in addition is able to report on KPI’s that are not measurable using traditional network monitoring tools. These include Time to First Service (TTFS - a measure of how long it takes for a terminal that has been powered-on to first access the network), and Attempted Call No Service (ACNS - informing the operator that a subscriber has attempted to use service (attempted to originate a voice call) when no network access is available. These KPI’s can assist Network Planning in determining where to build out their network to maximise revenues.
Richard Thompson, Head of Applications & Solution. Telecoms at Morpho (Safran group) said: "The Wadaro SIM based network monitoring solution allows operators to have a clear real time visibility of the service quality they provide to their customers, after all if there is poor network service, subscribers cannot spend with the operator; 'no service - no revenue'. The combination of Morpho SIMs and Wadaro TAP offers a real competitive advantage to mobile operators."
Founded in 2005, Wadaro (wadaro.com) is a UK based software company providing innovative customer experience monitoring solutions for mobile network operators. The portfolio of applets, under the collective branding of ‘Total Analysis Package (TAP)’, monitor the performance of mobile network service from within the SIM card installed in subscriber mobile device.
Customers for TAP include Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) globally. As TAP is implemented in the SIM card, the applet can report on mobile performance irrespective of the technology deployed to provide service. Consequently, TAP supports 2G, 3G and mixed mode service enabled by Pico cells and Femto cells plus the dynamic handover between all these technologies.
