Shermco Industries has hired Craig Nelson as a training specialist in its electrical training department.
With more than 40 years in the industry, Nelson will be responsible for course development and client education in the areas of electrical repair, maintenance and safety.
Nelson is a master electrician whose experience includes 13 years at Pacific Gas and Electric Company in which he worked in overhead and underground line construction, qualified as a journeyman power plant electrician and rose to the position of power plant electrical foreman working in plants with over 2000MW of generating capacity. He retired as a master chief construction electrician from the U.S. Navy Construction Force Reserve with over 30 years service. Nelson’s recent career experience includes course and training aid development, implementation of electrical test equipment for training applications, and technical training of a variety of courses. His areas of expertise include low and medium circuit breaker testing and maintenance, relay testing, insulation testing, application and operation of a wide variety of test equipment and instruments and motor and generator maintenance.
