St. Bonifacius, MN, United States, 2010/11/30 - Abel Onsite, the premier heating and cooling company in Minnesota, is proud to announce they have been authorized by Honeywell to provide air sealing and weatherization services to customers, both commercial and residential.
Abel Onsite, the heating and air conditioning specialists, announced that it has been authorized by Honeywell to provide air sealing and weatherization services for homes and commercial buildings. As part of their training, key employees at Abel Onsite have also received their Building Analyst and Building Envelope certification by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) which teaches them to take a comprehensive “House as a System” and “Building as a System” approach to their weatherization projects.
As an Authorized Honeywell Weatherization Contractor, Abel Onsite has successfully completed an in-depth training through the Honeywell Enovate™PRO Contractor Program. The training, done in conjunction with BPI, instructs select contractors how to analyze the building envelope, utilize methods and products for air sealing and weatherization and maintain all health and safety best practices.
“As an Authorized Honeywell Weatherization Contractor, Abel Onsite is ready to help homeowners and building owners make their property more comfortable and more energy-efficient,” said Bryan Magnus, business manager for weatherization products and services at Honeywell. “We congratulate Abel Onsite on becoming an Authorized Honeywell Weatherization Contractor.”
With over 65 years in the business, Abel Onsite understands the need for buildings to conserve heating and cooling resources as much as possible. Since 1944, Abel Onsite has been locally owned and operated, serving cities in the Lake Minnetonka western suburbs of Minneapolis, MN. “We continue to serve our customers with top notch products and workmanship,” said Fred Ridler, owner of Abel Onsite. “We offer heating and cooling solutions for every type of building; from century old homes and apartment dwellings to state-of-the-art buildings and high-tech laboratories, we service it all. Now as a Honeywell Weatherization Contractor, we can serve our clients and customers even better than before.”
Air sealing and weatherizing homes is one of the most effective ways homeowners can save energy and make homes more comfortable. According to the Air Barrier Association of America, a typical 2,500-square-foot home has more than a half mile of cracks and crevices. The U.S. government estimates that air leakage accounts for 25-40 percent of energy used for heating and cooling an average home.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 allocated $5 billion to enhance the government’s Weatherization Assistance Program, which allows families to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. Additionally, President Barack Obama last December proposed a new program that would reimburse homeowners for energy-efficient appliances and insulation. Under the program, widely called Cash for Caulkers, a homeowner could receive up to $12,000 in rebates for investment in home weatherization.
Only Authorized Honeywell Weatherization Contractors have access to a complete line of best in class Honeywell EnovatePRO air sealing and weatherization products and materials, including foam sealants and commercial grade weather stripping, used to perform weatherization contracting work.
