"The defense industry will continue to grow in spite of the global economic slowdown," says Subhranshu Sekhar Das, Director-Asia Pacific, Aerospace & Defense Practice at Frost & Sullivan." Increased government spending, growing public awareness, and rise in private sector spending has contributed to the rising demand of homeland security products and services. These fundamentals will not only keep the industry thriving but will also prompt the industry to grow.
"Asia Pacific offers tremendous opportunity for growth. With ageing defense systems in this region, the importance of military upgrades and replacements has increased as modern land defense technology will drive the market for highly capable, reliable, and cost-efficient systems to protect against foreign and domestic threats," adds Das.
The summit revolved around the theme "Empowering the Defence Industry to Increase National Defence Capabilities" as Frost & Sullivan endeavours to provide ideas and analyses on the feasible growth opportunities and key challenges that are present in the defense market. Other sessions included comprehensive discussions of the industry's present situation whilst various challenges and issues faced by the industry are thoroughly examined. Practical and apt solutions to mitigate these issues and challenges will be shared with the participating delegates through interactive discussions.
