RingCube Technologies, the leading provider of managed virtual workspaces, today announced that it has been selected to present at the McAfee Focus10 security conference next week in Las Vegas.
Kiran Kamity, desktop virtualization expert and RingCube co-founder, will present on a panel session with McAfee titled “Empower Mobility with Desktop Virtualization on Encrypted USB Devices” on Oct. 14 at 5 pm PDT during the event (mcafeefocus.com). Attendees will learn about business drivers for mobile desktop virtualization, how to address challenges, proven solutions for securing virtualized information, and real world implementations.
In addition, RingCube is demonstrating at Focus10 in Booth No. 668 its award-winning vDesk secure desktop virtualization functionality enabled on encrypted USB storage devices, among other solutions. With this innovation in secure desktop virtualization, workers can securely carry their virtualized PC desktops on an encrypted USB storage device, increasing the security and mobility of their desktop environment. Mobile workers can now access and use their own applications, settings and data on another machine using a small, highly mobile USB device.
“McAfee Focus10 is one of the industry’s most anticipated events for learning about the latest technologies to thwart multi-pronged attacks, achieve compliance, and reduce risk, and we are pleased to team up with McAfee to present on this growing topic,” said Mr. Kamity. “Together with McAfee, we are providing organizations with a solution that truly addresses customers’ needs around high performance computing, increased security, greater mobility and a seamless user experience.”
Mr. Kamity has expertise in virtualization, operating systems, embedded systems and computer networking. Prior to co-founding RingCube, he was at Network Appliance working in the core platform group. In addition to holding an MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, Mr. Kamity holds a BS degree in Material Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where he was awarded with a President’s (of India) Silver medal for outstanding academic performance. He also won several awards in Indian national science competitions and a gold medal in a Math-Olympiad in 1995.
RingCube vDesk’s unique Virtual Workspace technology separates the user’s desktop environment – including applications, data and settings – from the operating system and encapsulates it into a secure container while automatically backing up every virtual desktop to a centralized server. Users can run their vDesk workspace at the office or on unmanaged PCs – at home, or at disaster recovery site. When users start their vDesk workspace, it transforms any Windows PC into their own familiar corporate workspace where users can access their files, applications, settings and entire desktop, just as if they were on their own business PC whether online or offline from the network.
