Clifton, NJ, United States, 2010/10/05 - ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT) announced the completion of successful factory acceptance testing on its coastal surveillance radar system upgrade for the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV). NYSE: ITT
"This successful milestone culminates more than three years of development work to upgrade Sweden's coastal surveillance radar systems," said Bill Devlin, vice president of ITT's radar, reconnaissance and acoustic sensors business area. "ITT will move forward with full rate production to provide Sweden's defense forces with greatly improved capabilities to protect their coastal borders."
The Reliability and Modification (REMO) 870 upgrade program is based on ITT's new LCR-2020 integrated coastal surveillance radar system. With this adaptation of radar technology, ITT now offers customers an end-to-end radar, command, control and communications solution. Using this system, which increases awareness through an integrated network of radars, the customer can detect and intercept intruders more effectively, even in the harshest coastal marine environments.
The production of the radar system will be completed at ITT's electronic systems business in Van Nuys, California.
