Nexirius, LLC is presenting its innovative, internet-based Colibri® Gateway ColorDesign and ColorControl brand management and color communication system, together with Konica Minolta Sensing's new FD-Series Spectrodensitometers, at Graph Expo 2010, October 3-6, 2010, in Chicago’s McCormick Convention Center, Booth 2244.
“This is the solution that consumer product companies, brand owners, manufacturers and brand management companies have been waiting for,” says Judy van de Langkruis, Head of Marketing & Sales for Nexirius. “Gateway opens the door to rapid, easy and accurate color matching and communication of brand colors, helping to ensure worldwide consistency, and saving time, costs and resources.”
Colibri® Gateway is suitable for a wide variety of different applications, including graphic arts, plastics, paints and coatings, and ceramics. Printing processes include flexo-gravure, offset and screen for any substrate, using existing or specially designed ink systems.
The ColorDesign module allows designers and brand managers to upload and manage all artworks and designs associated with a brand, using the latest coverflow technique. ColorDesign checks production feasibility of colors measured with a spectrophotometer or selected from catalogs. A “traffic light” system clearly indicates whether a match is good, acceptable or unachievable within the specified tolerances. Guide and specific recipes facilitate and accelerate color production.
ColorControl allows suppliers to produce and monitor production of brand and color standards within agreed tolerances, making it easier for them to produce globally consistent colors in accordance with agreed specifications.
Gateway can monitor colors from design through to final production and designs can be marked where checking is required. Communication via the internet facilitates approvals and final certification of suppliers, while allowing protection of brand integrity and supplier confidentiality.
Colibri® comprehensive color-matching and color-control software, now rebranded, is also on show, together with the new FD-Series Spectrodensitometers, FD 5 and FD 7, from Konica Minolta Sensing America Inc. The two light-weight, hand-held models measure density and color, taking into account the fluorescence of paper under Illuminant D50, the standard light source used by the printing industry.
