Bailey Kennedy has been named among the country’s fastest growing private companies in the Inc. 5000 annual list. Bailey Kennedy was the only law firm in Nevada that made the list and one of just seven companies from the Silver State.
The Inc. 5000 represents the most important segment of the American economy, independent minded entrepreneurs. Music website Pandora, convenience store chain 7-11, Brooklyn Brewery and Radio Flyer, maker of the iconic children’s red wagon, are among the prominent brands featured on this year’s list.
“We are thrilled to be included in such a prestigious ranking of companies,” said John Bailey, founder and managing partner of Bailey Kennedy. “We have worked hard to provide the absolute best legal representation possible and are thrilled that Inc. magazine has recognized our efforts.”
Bailey Kennedy was founded in 2001 and specializes in litigation, healthcare law, administrative law and appellate work. The firm’s shareholders include Bailey, Dennis Kennedy and Joshua Dickey. All three have been recognized as “Super Lawyers” and Kennedy has been named to the prestigious Chambers USA list of outstanding commercial litigation attorneys for the past eight years.
The Las Vegas-based firm is joined in this year’s Inc. 5000 by seven other Nevada companies: Boss Business Services, Understand.com, Litigation Services, Eastbiz.com, Digital Blue Global, Nevada State Corporate Network and 4Wall Entertainment.
Bailey Kennedy ranked 3,198 on the list with a 61 percent growth in the past three years. It was one of just three law firms in its Rocky Mountain region, which includes Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming. Throughout the country, a total of 141 law firms made the list.
“The leaders of the companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 have figured out how to grow their businesses during the longest recession since the Great Depression,” said Inc. president Bob LaPointe. “The 2010 Inc. 5000 showcases a particularly hardy group of entrepreneurs.” This year’s Inc. 5000 companies employ a record 1.4 million people, up from one million on last year’s list.
The 2010 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2006 to 2009. To qualify for this year’s listing, companies must be based in the United States, privately held, for profit and independent. Companies must have been founded and generating revenue by June 30, 2006.
