Elscint Automation, the leading vibratory parts feeder manufacturer from India recently completed an order which required two toothpaste covers to come out side by side in the same orientation. The parts being plastic and with very less dimensional differences between all the sides, the orientation and feeding too was complicated. However, Elscint took it up as a challenge for the customer, who was located in Dubai. Two Model 250 EV vibratory bowl feeders were used, one clockwise and one anti-clockwise. As the orientation required at the outlet was the same, the orientation tooling in each of the bowls had to be made differently to match with their clockwise and anti-clockwise directions. Against a required speed of 40 parts per minute, Elscint achieved a speed of 50 to 55 parts per minute. Additionally, a single linear track of 800 mm length with both the chutes mounted on it was used to convey the parts forward. Elscint used air jet system to orient the parts. A table made of aluminium extruded sections mounted on castor wheels too was provided. Bowls: The Bowls have many distinct tooling features built into the basic bowl designs, with tracks varying in width and shape to accommodate different types of components. These inherent features of the bowl are of great assistance, when bowl tooling is being developed to fulfill a specific tooling application. The Bowls are made in either Cast Aluminum or Stainless Steel. In Stainless Steel various types of Bowls are available like Conical, Step Design, Cylindrical and Outside Track Bowl.
Drive: All drive units are correctly engineered to give stable performance at high speed with minimum maintenance. Totally Encapsulated Type coils with adequate power for particular models, are used. A removable Guard / Cover is provided for safety. All Drive Units are for FULL WAVE Operation and hence the energy consumption of Elscint Vibratory Drive Units is 40% less than its competitors who offer HALF WAVE Operation.
Control Unit: Every drive unit is supplied with separate control box, with which, it is possible to control the speed of the feeder infinitely. Standard units are suitable for electrical supply of 230 volts, 50 Hz. Soft Start controllers are available. In case of requirement, units suitable for 110 V / 60 Hz can also be offered. Model E3FC - For ratings up to 360VA (mainly for linear feeders and smaller sized bowl feeders) with 3 Amp current rating.
Model E5FC – For ratings up to 1500VA (for bowl feeders and large Linear Feeders) with 6 Amp current rating. This has an overload cut-off provision.
Model Elsctrl – For ratings up to 1500VA (for bowl feeders and large Linear Feeders) with 6 Amp current rating. This has a provision of soft stop.
Elscint_Fre_01 and Fre_02 – These are manual frequency controllers with two potentiometers, one for frequency and one for voltage. These provide highly stable performance and can guarantee constant voltage and constant frequency to the vibrator unit. These are available at very competitive prices. These are of tremendous value in case of intermittent usage of Genset.
Elscint FQ1 – This is a digital automatic tuning frequency controller which searches for the correct resonant frequency of the vibrator.
Elscint CV Series - Series CV (Constant Voltage) regulators are available where along with Constant Voltage requirement, there is a requirement to use a PLC to control the amplitude instead of an external Potentiometer.
