The Mobile Print Station™ 150 XL, a new label design platform from safety labeling solutions provider Graphic Products, Inc., hits the market today. It is compatible with DuraLabel brand label and sign printers.
Also referred to as the MPS 150 XL, the Mobile Print Station™ 150 XL is engineered to facilitate faster label design. Weighing less than three pounds, it is easily portable and can be connected to a DuraLabel printer near areas and equipment needing label and sign applications. The introduction of the MPS 150 XL means connecting a DuraLabel printer to conventional desktop or laptop computers to produce labels is no longer necessary.
“The Mobile Print Station™ 150 XL is a dedicated DuraLabel printer interface with a custom operating system, toolbar interface and programs designed for optimal industrial label creation,” said Bob Martell, product engineering manager at Graphic Products.
Featuring a 10.1″ WSVGA (1024 x 600) LED display screen and near full-size keyboard, the MPS 150 XL looks and operates much like a typical notebook computer, with a few key exceptions: it is programmed strictly for the purpose of designing industrial labels and signs using pre-installed templates and symbols; user programs cannot be installed. Also, no network or wireless capability exists.
The MPS 150 XL utilizes preinstalled DuraSuite labeling software and OpenOffice.org 3.2.1 (Writer, Draw and Spreadsheet) for creating labels and signs. Printer drivers are also preinstalled. Other preinstalled software includes MS Calculator, MS Paint, Windows Media Player 6.4, Acrobat Reader 8.2 and select MS control panels. Instructional videos, product manuals, “how-to” guides, EZ Barcode and label application photos are also pre-installed.
Intended for industrial environments, the MPS 150 XL boasts a tough, shock-resistant constructional design and rubberized exterior casing for optimal grip.
A three-cell “smart” lithium-ion battery provides mobile power for approximately 3 hours. An AC adaptor fully charges the battery pack in approximately 2.5 hours.

Also included with the MPS 150 XL are two convenient hardware accessories: an external USB flash drive (256MB) for backup and loading templates, and a mini optical mouse.
