Factors such as speed, performance and appearance are expected to play key roles in promoting the market.
New analysis from Frost & Sullivan (automotive.frost.com), Strategic Opportunity Analysis of the Polish Passenger Car and Light Commercial Vehicle Tyre Aftermarket: Identifying Growth Opportunities, finds that the market earned revenues of $547.00 million in 2008 and estimates this to reach $712.00 million in 2015.
"Tyres with higher speed ratings are likely to boost the growth of the Polish tyre aftermarket in the mid and long terms," argues Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Vitaly Belskiy. "Polish customers are becoming increasingly value-oriented but remain keenly interested in performance, handling, wet grip, rolling resistance and durability."
These factors should vitalize the market, hiking sales in the winter, premium, and HP and UHP segments of the Polish tyre aftermarket. Stable new car sales, increased transport activities and strong brand awareness should also add to the aftermarket potential.
This boost would be very timely, as it follows the 2009 slump in new car and light commercial vehicles sales and lower used light vehicle imports. Although the overall influence of these negative factors is expected to abate, higher input prices (including energy and tighter environment regulations) may remain detrimental to the market.
"Polish tyre aftermarket will likely decline by 1.8 per cent in 2010 due to lower new car sales in 2009," explains Belskiy. For this reason, focusing on future revenue-generating segments, such as winter tyres, HP and UHP tyres, and tyres with higher diameters, is necessary to overcome current challenges "Paying greater attention to the growth segments, taking all necessary steps, and adjusting production capabilities, will help in readying the participants when demand recovers," concludes Belskiy.
