DotAsia Organisation (DotAsia), Singapore Network Information Centre Pte Ltd (SGNIC), and Web Commerce Communications Limited (WebNIC) proudly announced today that a special bundle for domain names will be available at the CommunicAsia event 2010 which runs from the 15th to 18th of June. The special bundle of "1 .ASIA + 1 .SG" will retail at up to US$20 (WS: I’ve changed it to up to US$20 as the retail price ranges from US$15-US$20.) via WebNIC, a .SG and .ASIA accredited registrar.
”We are very excited about this promotion because it strengthens our belief that .ASIA complements local domains”, said Edmon Chung, CEO of DotAsia. “Through this programme, companies in Singapore can utilize their .ASIA domain along with their local domain to improve search engine optimization for the Asia internet marketplace. The CommunicAsia event exemplifies the value of .ASIA with a region wide scope and is the perfect platform to reach out to people about the importance of having a .ASIA web address.”
Lim Choon Sai, General Manager of SGNIC adds, “We are delighted to partner DotAsia to encourage more local legal entities to expand their reach in the internet marketplace. Starting from CommunicAsia right through to the ICANN meeting in Brussels, legal entities (including individuals) will be able to register .SG and .ASIA domain names in a bundle at an attractive price. SGNIC was one of the early supporters to the inception of DotAsia. This partnership marks both SGNIC's vision on helping the Asian region build its online presence, and DotAsia's commitment to contribute to the Internet community in the region.”
Tan TK, Chief Executive Officer of WebNIC says “As a leading domain name registrar in the Asia Pacific, we observe a growing trend in adopting geographical names such as .ASIA and .SG. WebNIC will strongly promote the bundle package of .ASIA and .SG as such an initiative aligns our core proposition of being a one-stop Asian TLD (top level domain) provider. With over 60% of price reduction in this bundle package, there is no better opportune time for end users and resellers to register .ASIA and .SG.”
DotAsia is also partnering with APNIC (Asia Pacific Network Information Centre) for a pavilion at the CommunicAsia 2010 event. At the pavilion, DotAsia will showcase the encouraging results from its community projects and contributions towards the promotion of Internet development and adoption in Asia.
