BRP-Powertrain receives authorization from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to extend the period of operation of its Rotax 914 series piston aviation aircraft engines from 1,200 to 2,000 hours of Time Between Overhauls (TBO).
Carried out in agreement with the Authority of the European Aviation Safety Agency, the program for the extension of the period of operation achieved positive results. Therefore, the TBO for the Rotax 914 series engines has been increased from 1,200 to 2,000 hours. The TBO increase also applies to the 914 series engines currently in the field, subject to the performance of applicable service bulletins. The engines of the Rotax 912 and 914 series have carried out more than 20 million flight hours in the field already.
“The extension of the TBO for the Rotax 914 series of aircraft engines, coupled with the recently announced increase of the TBO for the Rotax 912 series of aircraft engines, demonstrates our commitment to innovation and to the quality of our products”, said Michael Wagner, Director Aircraft Engines, BRP-Powertrain. "Every single employee of BRP-Powertrain and all our business partners worldwide play an important role in advancing our top position in terms of technology and market leadership", concluded Wagner.
