Moore’s presentation, “Testing Methodologies of Service Aged Medium Voltage Cables,” detailed time-tested and innovative maintenance techniques to keep power distribution centers online. Moore explained how maintaining and trending a facility’s medium voltage power cables lead to lower production costs and increased production capability.
“As electrical systems age, components of those systems can deteriorate, causing reduced performance, reliability and safety. So, it’s imperative to understand the best methods of testing and maintaining all the different components of these systems,” said Moore.
The IEEE PES is a global, non-profit association of more than 24,000 professionals in the electric power energy industry. The association provides scientific information on electric power and energy.
