ISIS Services, an innovator in pre-clinical and non-clinical testing, has named Jon N. Cammack, Ph.D., D.A.B.T., as President and Chief Executive Officer to lead the contract research organization into a new era of growth and services. Cammack joins ISIS Services after 15 years at Baxter International Inc., most recently as Vice President of its global R&D organization (Technology Services).
Cammack is an established leader in the medical device, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. He co-chairs the U.S. Technical Advisory Group for ISO TC 194, the international organization that develops standards for medical device, drug-device, and biologic-device combination products. Cammack also serves on the advisory boards for the biotechnology programs at the University of Illinois Medical School and Northwestern University’s Center of Excellence in Nanotechnology Cancer Research.
“Jon brings extensive technical and managerial expertise to our organization,” said Dr. Jorge L. Garcia, Chief Scientific Officer and Founder of ISIS Services. “He has a vision for introducing new strategies into pre-clinical testing, as well as the ability to implement these improvements and enhance the overall experience for our clients at each of our facilities.”
Since its inception in 1983, ISIS has been known for its excellent science and strong surgical and clinical skills. “ISIS has always seen itself as a partner with medical device and biotech firms, and we’re about to raise the innovation bar to a whole new level,” said Cammack. “I think these companies, both large and small, will be pleasantly surprised at what we’re ready to offer today, as well as what’s ahead for them in terms of maximizing research dollars while moving even more ideas thru the proof-of-concept testing phase.”
Cammack will be based out of ISIS Services’ San Carlos facility and can be reached at (650) 595-4747 or via email at j.cammack[.]isis-services.com.
About ISIS Services
With over twenty-five years of experience in comparative medicine, ISIS Services has established a reputation for excellent science, strong surgical and clinical skills and customized, timely services. We are the longest running, fully independent contract surgical facility and have been conducting GLP studies since 1983.
ISIS further distinguishes itself from traditional CROs by offering over 40, 000 square feet between two pre-clinical medical facilities in the heart of “Biotech Bay”; its surgical suites were designed for firms to train physicians, conduct IDE studies, prepare for pre- and post-market product launches, and educate sales and marketing staff.
ISIS Services (isis-services.com) offers specialized services that support every step of your project goals—from prototype development and GLP clinical trials to surgeon training and market expansion studies. At each of these steps, ISIS Services provides expert capabilities in comparative medicine, surgery and pathology to help optimize device design and performance. Our pre-clinical GLP and non-GLP capabilities range from feasibility studies, to safety and efficacy assessments, to physician and sales force training. The scope and nature of these studies includes: cardiovascular, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, urogenital, dermatological, and wound healing-- with an emphasis on medical device development and biomaterial testing.
