Toronto, Ontario, Canada, 01/25/2010 – Logic Software Inc., developer of intelligent anti piracy solutions, announced today the launch of Logic Protect Version 7.1, an update to its leading software protection and activation solution, available online.
Logic Protect 7.1 is a fully automated solution providing flexible activation, software protection and license management schemes aimed at eliminating illegal license sharing and software piracy. Administered through a built-in web interface, Logic Protect supports online and offline software activations and can be integrated into business applications, games or GUI components.
Logic Protect 7.1 introduces additional activation and software protection features including IP address tracking, offline intranet activation support, Windows 7 and 64-bit application support. Logic Protect 7.1 can be configured to log clients’ IP address with every software activation, helping prevent software sharing and installation between multiple computers. Enterprise environment activation support allows for software installation and activation on computers without direct internet access.

In their May 2009 findings, the Business Software Alliance reported that the global spread of Internet access is one of the major factors affecting PC software piracy. In 2008 alone, worldwide financial losses due to software piracy grew by 11% to $53 billion. The findings show that lowering global piracy by just one point a year would add $20 billion in stimulus to the IT industry.
Logic Protect 7.1 has a broad application field and can provide intelligent software activation, anti-piracy functionality and copy protection for small development firms or enterprise-level IT organizations.
