Bangkok, Thailand, 06/26/2006 – Andrew Dutton, previously Senior Vice President and General Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), has been named International Sales Senior Vice President and General Manager. His new role includes responsibility for both the EMEA and Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) regions.
Dutton’s new responsibility for the APJ region will be well served by his extensive experience in the industry and in Asia Pacific. A 27-year industry veteran, Dutton spent 17 years at IBM in a number of senior management positions to become IBM Software Group Asia Pacific Vice President and General Manager with responsibility for more than 3,000 software sales, marketing and support personnel. In addition, Dutton sat on IBM’s worldwide Senior Management Group.
“My expanded role facilitates CA’s focus on international sales. I am delighted to take on responsibility for Asia Pacific & Japan in addition to my EMEA leadership role and to be able to use my experience to help maximize the efforts and aspirations of CA’s sales teams internationally. Central to our success in EMEA and APJ is CA’s Enterprise IT Management (EITM) strategy, which is our vision of how to unify and simplify the management of IT for enterprises by way of an integrated, automated and secure platform,” Dutton said.
Reporting to Dutton, Gavin Selkirk becomes CA’s Senior Vice President and General Manager for APJ, succeeding John Ruthven, who has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales Operations, based in Islandia, New York, in the US. Dutton will continue to directly manage the EMEA region.
Most recently, Selkirk was Vice President and Executive Assistant to CA’s President and CEO, John Swainson. Before that, he was Area Manager & Managing Director, Pacific; and Director & Area Manager, Japan. Prior to taking up his CA headquarters post, Australian-born Selkirk played a key role in growing the Pacific business, while managing a regional workforce of more than 500. More recently, he completed a short-term assignment as Director & Area Manager, Japan.
Selkirk said: “I am delighted to be taking on this new challenge, particularly at this time in CA’s history. I believe that enormous potential lies in the APJ region for our industry, and I am looking forward to working with the APJ team to make sure we make a major contribution to CA’s global success story.”
In his new position as Worldwide Sales Operations SVP, John Ruthven will oversee global sales operations management, including administration of the sales commission plan and other sales infrastructure support areas. Before becoming SVP and GM for APJ, Ruthven, who has served CA for 10 years, led the regional sales operation.
