Brighton, Sussex, United Kingdom, 2006/06/25 - Over 30 percent of UK organisations are using e-Learning authoring tools to create their own e-learning. It's become a serious business. This week Kineo launches a survey to identify what's working in the authoring tools market and what isn't..
Kineo, the leading e-learning consultancy, has run previous surveys on the use of audio in learning, and on learning communities. The results have been highly informative about new directions in the learning market. Now Kineo turns its attention to the fascinating arena of authoring tools.
Stephen Walsh, partner with Kineo, commented: “The e-learning authoring tools market is crowded and confusing. We speak to clients all the time about the good, bad and downright ugly when it comes to building your own e-learning. Part of what we do as a company is provide objective advice on emerging trends, so it’s a natural extension of that to try to make some sense of the e-learning authoring tools space: what is truly rapid, and what takes a lot longer than it says on the tin? What’s worth the sticker price, and what’s not worth downloading even for free? These questions and more are at the heart of our new survey”.
Kineo also announced a plan to fully road test the top tools based on the survey results, providing interested readers with an insight into how each tool handles a range of standard design tasks.
Kineo will publish the results of the survey in early August.
You can participate in the survey by going to the Kineo website.
