ACCA and the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA) have jointly organised a successful visit by leading Chinese accountants to France.
The objective of the Firm Management Study Trip, which took place from 19 October to 4 November, was to provide partners of CPA firms in China with the opportunity of studying firm management and business development in an international context. Its aim was to help enhance delegates’ capability in coping with the strategic development of mainland China CPA firms towards high level international operations.
Led by CICPA’s deputy secretary general Mr Cai Xiaofeng and his team, the training delegation was composed of 19 CPA professional talents who are all leading partners of top local CPA firms in China.
Working closely with the French professional bodies for auditors and accountants, CNCC (Compagnie Nationale des Commissaires aux Comptes) and CSOEC (Conseil Supérieur de l’Ordre des Experts-Comptables), ACCA facilitated the exchange between the French and the Chinese profession.
During the three-week training programme, the delegation had meetings and discussions with over 30 industry leaders in the French profession, including Xavier Aubry, CSOEC vice president, and Yves Nicolas, CNCC board member, Christine Thin, chair of Haut Conseil du Commissariat aux Comptes (the High Council for Statutory Auditing), Jean-Francois Lepetit, chair of Conseil National de la Comptabilité (the local standard setting organisation) and distinguished speakers from local practising firms and regional bodies, CROEC and CRCC, in Lyon and Marseille.
‘We were delighted to have helped to organise the visit, which gave partners from leading Chinese accountancy firms an insight into how the profession operates in another country, and the kind of issues they will need to be aware of as their firms deal with more international matters,’ said Ada Leung, ACCA head of strategy and development, China, who accompanied the CICPA delegation.
